I can’t get over the fact that you have a travel blog and YouTube channel! 🤩 and the fact that I actually know where Leh - Ladakh is!

WOW!! You know LEH - Ladakh well that has been my love since 2008, I have been writing, publishing content about it since 2009, and yes my YT channel is dedicated to that region (I am more of a known guru of trans-himalayan travel, ha aha) ... even though I have stopped publishing more videos on it since last year.. I wish to resume there as soon as I get some free time.. Next connect we shall talk about it then if you been to Ladakh :)

I've never been to Ladakh or the Himalayas in India or Nepal but I featured so many tours to Everest in my 9-5 that I feel like I know all there is to know about Nepal. So spoke to our regular clients and he recommended we try the Indian Himalayas and LEH - Ladakh came up. So I researched it and we launched it once. We even tried selling a Snow Leopard trek! It didn't get any traction, people just wanted to check Everest off (Annapurna was popular too) their list which I felt was a pity. The Snow Leopards and LEH - Ladakh sounded interesting!

Are you from LEH - Ladakh? Why is it your love?

OMG, Everest.. that has always been a dream but driving on so many high altitude trips now left me medically unfit it seems to travel.. I never could visit Nepal side of the Himalayas may be some time in future in retirement now and I know the person now to reach out.. For Ladakh anytime you wanna visit, just let me know.. Well, I m not from Ladakh but that is a place where I just lost my soul and gave a life I never had.. may be a story to tell when we connect next :) ... I have written a book on Ladakh too https://discoverwithdheeraj.com/ladakh-decoded-the-ultimate-travel-guide/

This is amazing! What about Ladakh attracted you to it time and time again?

Wow! You can become medically unfit from too many high altitude trips! I didn’t know. Does that mean that it’s the same for Nepalese Sherpa guides as well?

I have thought about doing Everest base camp treks before but now I’m not so sure.

Aah na na, I didn't meant that going so many trips made me or health issues like this but more like now being 40+ I do not feel like going thru regular high altitude rugged terrain anymore especially with some minor health issues.. The AMS takes a toll on me I have started to notice lately, so now I kinda avoid too adventurous trips there. Well, Ladakh as a place (once upon a time before mass tourism) has a magic of its own.. once you go there you feel like there is no other place in the world like it.. the rugged terrain yet so so beautiful with warm hearts of locals (again lot has changed in past 16-17 years).. but still places like Zanskar Valley or some remote villages like Terido / Teriphu gives you the same magical feeling.. You need to visit the place the believe its pristine beauty..

Maybe one day. The world is so big and there’s so many places I want to go. But limited time and money makes it even harder.
